What if my baby cries during the session?

Davina Cavalli

Newborn sessions with me are up to 2.5 hours. This is enough time to get all my posing table positions and floor prop setups done as well as all my family/sibling and parent compositions done. Through experience I have found this time adequately can cover all my set-ups and time required for feeding, changing, settling etc. Some babies are more difficult to settle than others but I do have my different techniques to help them relax into the session.

Babies cry..it's how they communicate and that is ok! If for whatever reason baby is really not settling I may make. decision to do all or part of the session on a different day when baby will hopefully be more settled. This is super rare as I do always manage to get a really nice gallery out of my little ones.

A pacifier, if only for the session, is always a good idea to help settle them in poses. Also choosing a time of day that is generally a more relaxed time can be a good idea. If for whatever reason you have any concerns I am always happy to chat about it and elevate any worries you may have. I promise...I have baby whispering capabilities and it will all be good!
